This group project was completed during first semester studio class. We were tasked with designing a bus shelter stylized according to an assigned area of Toronto. The group and I were assigned the area between the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). The University of Toronto's main campus is also encompassed in this area.
After carrying out field research, creating multiple iterations and building many sketch models, this was the final result of our labour. The three modules each serve a purpose while also conveying a sense of unison. In addition, the colours, red and blue, add a vibrance that compliments the liveliness of the area. Finally, the chosen materials of steel, glass, and concrete help the shelter reflect the materials commonly found between the ROM and AGO.
